Membership is for people who want to take part in LAS learning, outreach and astronomy activities. The process is transparent: application, assessment, interview and final LAS approval.
How membership works

Submit your application
Tell LAS about your background, interests, availability and reason for joining.
Complete the assessment
Answer 15 introductory astronomy questions. A score of at least 8 is required to move forward.
Interview and LAS review
Passing the assessment is not automatic membership. LAS will arrange an interview and make the final decision.
Approval is not automatic
An assessment pass only qualifies the applicant for an interview and LAS administrative review.
Only necessary information
The portal does not ask for identity-document uploads or collect payment information.
